Six things the calculator
actually measures.
No black box. These are the variables behind the figure, so you can sanity-check it against your own rooms before you speak to anyone.
Room size and what you're painting
Walls only, ceiling only, or both — each priced separately, then scaled by whether the room is a box room, a standard bedroom, or an open-plan space.
Woodwork, counted by the item
Doors, windows, and skirting are added per unit rather than bundled, so a room with six doors doesn't hide inside the same rate as a room with one.
Hallways and staircases
Circulation space is priced by the storeys it spans and the ceiling height, because that's what decides whether we need towers or a scaffold.
Facade area for exteriors
Property type and storeys give an approximate facade in square metres; scaffolding, when you select it, scales to that same area rather than a flat fee.
Sprayed work, by the component
Kitchens and MDF joinery are counted door by door — fronts, drawers, shelves, panels, carcasses. A 14-door kitchen and a 30-door kitchen aren't the same job, and the price shouldn't pretend they are.
Preparation you choose to add
Wallpaper stripping, mould treatment, and a full plaster skim are separate lines you can switch on per room, and remove again from the breakdown.
