Riverside apartment repaint in Chelsea Harbour, SW10
A Chelsea Harbour apartment taken from taupe to white in three days: walls in every room, plus ceilings in the kitchen and bathroom. Dulux Trade Vinyl Matt in three coats, Zinsser mould-resistant matt in the wet rooms.

From taupe to a clean, bright white
This riverside apartment in Chelsea Harbour had warm taupe walls throughout, and a curved living-room wall running the length of the room. One living-room wall had a damaged area that needed repairing before anything else, and the kitchen ceiling was marked around the downlights.
Working around the furniture
The large sofa stayed in the living room, fully wrapped, and the carpets and kitchen floor were sheeted edge to edge. Sockets and switches were masked, and the damaged section was filled and sanded flush so it would disappear under the new colour.
Three coats, and the right paint for wet rooms
The living room, hallway and both bedrooms got three coats of Dulux Trade Vinyl Matt in Pure Brilliant White — enough to cover the old taupe completely and leave an even, flat finish. The kitchen and bathroom were painted in Zinsser Perma-White Interior Matt, a mould-resistant paint for steamy rooms. In the kitchen and bathroom the ceilings were painted too, cut in cleanly around the downlights. Elsewhere only the walls were painted, with clean lines against the ceilings, sockets and air-conditioning grilles; the woodwork — doors, frames and skirting — was not part of this job. Three days from start to finish.
