Why it holdsa clean line.
Washi is thin, dense paper with a tight, even fibre structure. That matters for two reasons: the tape sits almost flat against the surface so paint cannot creep underneath, and it tears straight off the roll by hand without a knife or dispenser. Both are the difference between a line you cut in once and a line you go back and touch up.
The acrylic adhesive is tuned for firm hold on the sort of surfaces a decorator actually meets — set emulsion, primed woodwork, glass, tile, render and metal. At 2.0–3.5 N/25mm of adhesion to steel it grips hard enough to survive a wet edge and a roller passing over it, then releases without lifting sound paint or leaving a gummy residue behind.
It is solvent-resistant and rated to 130°C for 30 minutes, so it holds up under spray work, gloss and heat-gun proximity. UV resistance runs to 30 days outdoors, which covers a normal exterior job including the weather delays that come with one.
We use this roll on Interior painting & decorating, Exterior painting and MDF spraying jobs across London.
