Limewash feature wall and full flat repaint in Mayfair, W1
A Mayfair flat painted from end to end over three weeks, with a Farrow & Ball Limewash wall in Vert de Terre as the centrepiece of the master bedroom. Holes closed and surfaces filled, wardrobes and all woodwork painted, Tikkurila Optiva on walls and ceilings, and Helmi 10 colour-matched to Farrow & Ball Pointing.

A limewash wall as the centrepiece
The main feature of this Mayfair flat is the master bedroom. Plain white walls under a sloped ceiling were painted in Calamine, a soft pink, and the wall behind the bed was finished in Farrow & Ball Limewash in Vert de Terre. Unlike flat emulsion, limewash dries with soft movement and shade, so the green has real depth in the light from the long window.
Closing the holes first
The rest of the flat needed careful preparation before any colour went on. Holes in the walls and ceilings were closed and filled, including the repairs around the bathroom basin and mirror recess. Q1 floor protection went down and the furniture and light fittings were wrapped in place.
The whole flat, in three weeks
The walls were painted in Tikkurila Optiva 5, with Kakelugn in the living room and Calamine in the master bedroom, and the ceilings in Optiva 3, a full flat matt. The wardrobes were painted, and all the woodwork was finished in Tikkurila Helmi 10. Ceilings and woodwork were both colour-matched to Farrow & Ball Pointing, so they sit comfortably against the coloured walls. Three weeks from start to finish.
